The 1.1.0 version of Pangu Jailbreak for iOS 7.1.1 is now available for users interested in jailbreaking their compatible iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices. Basically, if the device can run iOS 7.1.1, it can be jailbroken with the Pangu tool using a fairly straightforward process from a Windows PC or Mac, and that’s what this tutorial will demonstrate.
Jailbreaking is certainly not for everyone and there are legitimate reasons not to do it, leaving the activity best reserved for advanced users who have a strong reason to jailbreak their devices, and preferably with some experience with the process. Be sure tounderstand the risks before attempting to perform this action with your own iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch hardware. This is not something to take lightly, and we think the average user should not jailbreak their devices.
Update: The same version of Pangu tool also works to jailbreak iOS 7.1.2.
How to Jailbreak iOS 7.1.1 & iOS 7.1.2 with the Pangu 1.1.0
Pangu 1.1.0 jailbreaks iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, but we’re going to run through the tutorial showing jailbreaking an iPhone, the directions will be the same for all other devices and should be the same for Mac and Windows.
- Back up the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to iTunes – this is important, it lets you undo the jailbreak
- Have the device updated to iOS 7.1.1 or iOS 7.1.2 before beginning
- Download the Pangu 1.1.0 jailbreak for Mac or Windows and launch the app (Mac users need to open Pangu by right-clicking and choosing “Open” to get around the developer warning)
4. Connect the iOS device to the computer with a USB cable
5. Click the “Jailbreak” button once the Pangu app detects the device
6..Follow the onscreen instructions and set the clock back to June 2, 2014
7. The jailbreak process will begin automatically once the changed date has been detected
8.When the Pangu icon appears on your iPhone / iPad / iPod home screen, tap to open it, then tap on “Continue” to continue the jailbreak process
9.After another moment or two the iOS device will eventually reboot and the Pangu app will change status to “Done”
When the device reboots, you’ll find the familiar brown Cydia icon waiting for you to use. Just launch Cydia and you’re ready to go (note the device may reboot again when Cydia is initially launched). Enjoy the jailbreak!
Remember, you can always unjailbreak by restoring the iPhone or iPad through iTunes, this is why it’s so important to backup the device before beginning the process.
