Common iPhone Camera Issues and Solutions

Posted by Droid Firmware Flash on Tuesday, April 12, 2016

One of the best smartphones in the world has got the best camera features built inside. But even the best thing has some flaws in it and so does your iPhone. People have regularly complained about some technical faults in the Camera appof iPhone.
Sometimes, issues occur while taking photos and other times; photos do not come out the way they should. The result fails to soothe your eyes. Blurry vision, completely black screen, flash gets stuck, a disappearance of Camera app from Home screen are some of the issues users have been facing recently.
We have found some fixes to these issues; hope they work on your iPhone.

Common iPhone Camera Issues and It’s Solutions

Blurred Image on iPhone Camera
Nothing annoys you as much as a blurred image. Whether it’s a selfie or a regular photo, a blurred image can spoil your vacation or any event. Although iOS has got some of the best algorithms fitted into it that help you focus on the subject automatically, you may get the blurred photograph in the end. Often, your manual attempts to focus on something specific fails to deliver good results.
Before you abuse the software, just make sure that you are focusing correctly on your iPhone Camera app. You need to spend enough time to see what’s in focus and then hit the button to capture a perfect image.
If your software gets clean chit, now you can convict the hardware of your iPhone. First, check the camera lens on your iPhone. In a day, the lens comes into contact with sweaty fingers and dirty clothes, which spoil the overall camera function. To check whether the lens is filthy, take 20 odd photos of different faces or lifeless objects around you. Then check the quality of photos by swiping one after another. You will be able to notice smudge on each photo. To remove this dirt, use a micro-fiber cloth to wipe out the smudge.
If your luck doesn’t favor you, that dirt might have entered the lens on your iPhone. And now you should consider as a serious issue and take your iPhone to Apple Support Center. The reason is simple: you are not a technician and therefore can’t open that lens to operate it at your home or office. Scratches and cracks are not likely to damage the camera lens as it is made of hard glass Apple uses.
iPhone’s optical video stabilization can be weakened by any metallic case or magnetically attachable lens. You should immediately get rid of that case and then check the quality of pictures taken by you.
If the camera app still throws tantrums, you have got only one option: take your iPhone to Apple.
Black Screen on iPhone Camera
This is your nightmare. You are on a vacation and all excited to save all beautiful memories you are going to spend with your family. And what you see on your iPhone camera is a black screen instead of the image you want to capture. This time, the software can be the culprit as I have faced this issue many times. A handy solution to this problem is to switch front and rear camera in quick succession.
Still the problem persists? Quit the camera app from App Switcher and restart the app to check whether the issue is resolved or not. You may also go for a forced restart of your iPhone by pressing and holding the power button and Home buttonat the same time for ten-odd seconds.
You should also check your iPhone cover or case if a part of the accessory comes between the camera lens and the object you want to capture. Sometimes, you are likely to forget that your finger eclipses the camera lens on your iPhone. In this case, even Apple cannot help.
iPhone Camera’s Flash is Stuck
Flash can darken your mood to click happy faces of your loved ones. Sometimes, it happens that users clean forget to turn the flash feature off when they don’t want to use Camera app on their iPhones. Often this would leave flash option turned on when you launch Camera app for the next photo session. This can drain your iPhone’s battery like anything, which results in poor camera performance in general and flash in particular.
The simple solution is turning the flash off from the Control Center. If the flash is turning on randomly during the photo shoot, you must have enabled automatic flash on the camera app. In this situation, either turn off flash completely or keep it on.
In a stranger situation, flash misbehaves and denies taking your orders, i.e. doesn’t open at all without any reason. This time, you should check that your iPhone is not kept in the hot environment. If you have overused your iPhone to shoot long videos, it could have made it warm after extensive usage. This is when your iPhone disables LED flash; just chill and let your iPhone gets calm.
iPhone Camera Disappear from Home screen
Oops! The camera app is gone. This one is the weirdest situation in your life. Don’t get scared here. Just check other pages by swiping from right to left on the Home screen. Also, check each folder you have created on the Home page and on secondary pages on your iPhone. Normally, we share our iPhone with our siblings, spouse and other members of the family; and one of them may have placed the camera app on other page or in another folder. Launch spotlight search and find camera app from there.
If you don’t find camera app even from the spotlight search, you should check the restrictions on your iPhone. Sometimes, you might have set restrictions to stop click-happy kids from using Camera app.
Step #1. Launch Settings app on iPhone → Tap on General.

Step #2. Tap on Restrictions → Enter the passcode.
Step #3. Toggle Camera option ON.
This should probably solve the problem for you. All the listed solutions here are first performed on our iPhone 6s. But if none of the above works, you should immediately contact Apple Support Center.
